What are the eligibility criteria for becoming an e-hailing driver?
- Must be a Malaysian citizen with a Blue IC
- Aged between 21 and 69 years old
- Must hold a valid full driving license (P license not accepted)
- Must possess a valid Public Service Vehicle (PSV) license
- No criminal record
- Vehicle must be less than 15 years old
What documents do I need to submit for registration?
- Malaysian Blue IC (Identity Card)
- Valid Full Driving License & PSV License
- Vehicle Ownership Document (e.g., Vehicle Grant)
- Active Road Tax & E-Hailing Insurance Cover Note
- Puspakom Inspection Certificate (required if vehicle is over 3 years old)
What if my vehicle is older than 15 years?
- Vehicles that are more than 15 years old are generally not eligible for e-hailing services.
How long does the registration process take?
- The registration process may take up to 14 working days, as it involves verification by multiple government agencies.
- You are required to complete and pass our online exam before your account can be activated.
Can I drive a vehicle that is not owned by me?
- Yes, but the vehicle must be registered under a Malaysian citizen or permanent resident, and the driver’s name must be listed in the insurance cover note.
What happens if I have a criminal record?
- A clean criminal record is generally required to become an e-hailing driver. Applicants with a criminal history may not be eligible for registration.
How can I check the status of my application?
- Our GV Ride onboarding team will notify you once there’s an update. You can also check your application status by contacting your assigned registration admin
Where can I find more information how to operate GV Ride apps?
- You will need to attend our Basic Driver Training, held at our HQ every Tuesday and Saturday.
Do I need to top-up credit wallet to start work?
- Yes, you must top up a minimum of RM20 in your GV Ride credit wallet to begin driving.
